WASHINGTON, LELEMUKU.COM - Vanessa Bryant, widow of basketball star Kobe Bryant has agreed to settle a lawsuit against the pilot and owner of the helicopter that crashed last year and killed Kobe and his daughter, Gianna, and seven others.
Vanessa, her children and other relatives of the victim filed a notice of the settlement agreement Tuesday with a federal judge in Los Angeles but the terms of the confidential agreement were not disclosed.
If approved by the court, the settlement, first announced by KABC-TV, would end a negligence and death lawsuit brought against the property of the pilot and owner and operator of the helicopter that crashed on a hillside on January 26, 2020.
Bryant and Gianna, aged 13, along with six other passengers flew from Orange County to a youth basketball tournament at his Mamba Sports Academy in Ventura County. The helicopter encountered heavy fog in the San Fernando Valley north of Los Angeles. (VOA)
